When a couple have a doggie treat station at the wedding you know they are the best kind of people. *Click - that’s the sound I heard when I met Michelle a few weeks before her wedding. What an incredible woman! When I got to Rockbeare Manor I went straight to find Tony - I just couldn’t wait to see who she had chosen to spend the rest of her life with. What a chilled, mellow, dog-loving guy he turned out to be. What an utterly fabulous day, thank you so much for having me guys!
Hello my favourite combination of down-to-earth and head-over-heels! Matt and Nicola, your wedding was a sun-soaked chill fest that I never wanted to end.
Don’t let the relaxed vibe fool you though, these two humans knew exactly what a momentous day it was. Nic’s nerves in the morning made my heart grow two sizes, and Matt’s face when he saw his girl coming down the aisle was an espresso martini for the soul.
Last time I saw these two, they were dancing their feet off to The Swing Kings - hand in hand and completely in the moment, and in love.
Something tells me that’s never going to change.
Nikki and Steve’s day was an explosion of colour, big blue skies, carpets of purple bluebells, golden evening glow and peachy sunset. Bliss. Oh I have so enjoyed having this kaleidoscope on my screens - but it all pales in comparison to Nikki’s smile. That girl has a smile that clears away the clouds and every time her face broke into one I felt myself smiling too. The only person smiling more? Steve. Ladies of the world, marry the guy that looks at you like Steve looks at Nikki. Like she is magic, and mystery and mischief and mirth - all rolled into one. Heavens, I love my job.
What an unforgettable day! Charlotte and Hugo, you guys are the real deal. Charlotte had the most incredible hand painted tea-length dress, truly just one of a kind. I asked Hugo if he liked it, and if it was anything like what he had expected and his answer said it all. “I didn’t think about it too much, I just knew that whatever she chose, would be right.”
Easy, light and effortless - just like their love.
Beky and Sam. How much love was at their wedding? When I say it was everywhere I looked - I really mean it. From Beky’s Dad walking the grounds of Tredudwell Manor picking up any sticks he thought surplus to requirement in the morning, to tiny little Poppy staring at Beky like she had walked straight from the pages of a fairytale, rivalled only by the way Sam looked at Beky when she reached the top of the aisle. These two have been together ten and a half years and it was an absolute privilege to meet their wonderful friends and family and share in their joy. I can’t thank you enough for choosing me, here are some of my faves xx
OH How I have been ITCHING to get these incredible humans on my blog. Dani and Sam (and Inka the gorgeous doggo) celebrated their day at the gorgeous Shilstone House in Devon. Dani has one of those smiles that lights up a room - and Sam has this quiet calm presence that makes everything feel ‘just right.’ Together they are a formidable team, bringing light and flow wherever they go….I can see why your family and friends celebrated as hard as they did…this is some once in a lifetime type love.
Francesca and Simon, the human embodiments of relaxed elegance. What a laid back, stylish affair their big day was from start to finish. Even the little flower girls got the memo and kept their flowers crowns on all day **voluntarily**(this never happens). Even when she was teetering at the top of a human pyramid after a tequila Francesca was cool as a cucumber, consider me impressed!
Here are a few of my faves xx
Aimee and Chris - where do I even begin? These two are a the perfect pairing. The met on a maritime fire safety course. Amy - a professional dancer was off to work on the cruise ships and Chris was the trainer. Fast forward a few years and Chris popped the question underwater while scuba diving (how incredible right!) and now these two are starting another epic chapter in their amazing story. Fair to say they kicked it off in style at the beautiful Rockbeare Manor near Exeter. Here are some of my favourites.
Henceforth known as the couple who brought the Bahamas to Braunton. This incredible boho, tropical, rock n’ roll-style day saw Lucy’s family home transformed into one of the most incredible marquee set ups I have seen. Rum punch, steel drum vibes, bonfires, a rowing boat expedition, a cheeky beach trip and a dance floor that would.not.quit - so so awesome I will overlook the fact that I am still singing ‘A Whole New World’… Thanks for having me guys - here are some of my faves xx
I always knew this would be a special wedding to photograph. Louisa is a hair and makeup artist extraordinaire - she married long time love and fellow musician Gareth in a tiny church up on a cliff in Hope Cove in Devon where she has been holidaying since she was a little girl. Right by their side - beautiful Bella - who soaked up every emotion. All in all a day bursting with sentiment, sea air, and serious soundtracks.
Also - there was a donut tower cake (I totally snaffled one and YUM!)
