This little legend and his big smile have stolen my heart. I first met little Jack when he was just a few months old and we did a family shoot near Umdloti. When the amazing Cait heard I was back in Ballito she got hold of me and we met one wild and slightly stormy afternoon for a shoot on Salt Rock Beach. It often pays to shoot in imperfect weather, big skies add drama and wind adds movement and life to the photos. Just like I don’t do studios and stiff poses, I prefer real life conditions to showcase your little family.

I had the most stunning shoot with Anne and her family on the KZN North Coast, all the way from Denmark. Durban is Anne's second home and I know it was happy to welcome them all back - with an extra dose of heat 🌞

Cait and Craig booked me for a mini shoot a few months ago - and were also amongst my very first family shoot couples out in South Africa. Boy have I been blessed with amazing humans!! Little Jack had such a jol (SA for a good ol time!) on his first South African photo shoot - those smiles!!! I so enjoyed sharing and enthusing about how much we are in love with this beautiful country too guys - positive human beings make the world go round!! Big love xx

These were taken just at the end of lockdown - Dani wanted to celebrate their home and their garden, the space in which her wonderful family had made so many happy memories during the storms of 2020. We swang on the swings, climbed trees, bounced on the trampoline, checked out the plants and all in all had a sparkling good time. All kinds of wonderful!

Oh wow - I can’t believe it has taken me this long to get these beauties on my screen! I fell instantly in love with little Scarla - she rocked up ready for her shoot like a force of nature. Frozen dress, nails all a different colour and of course some bright pink lipstick - all her own look and 200% her own sense of style. Kayleigh - I love that you let her express herself and I double love that little Harper joined us on the beach for the last night of day. You two are beyond special and I hope our paths cross again soon!

Since I shot this wonderful set, I have met Beanca again with her and Kyle’s extended family for a post lockdown family love shoot - and the results were so special - watch this space. I knew straight away I would love Bea - chilled yet super organised, go-with-the-flow but knew exactly what she liked. I can see why Kyle and Mila adore her so much. Meeting these two at the wonderful Collisheen Estate was a big treat for me back in July - and I can’t wait for the awesome little Mila to give me the call one day to take her Matric Dance photos too :) Big love guys!!

A shoot so special to me! I have known Bianca since we were just 12 years old and I remember being so excited to hold baby Blake for the first time - look what a big guy he has grown into. And little Hope - an absolute free spirit - it gave my heart such wings to watch her running free on the beach (even if it did drive my calm and organised friend Bee to distraction) Bee and Steve - you guys are doing such an amazing job - keep up the awesome work - your kids are solid gold!

Does it get any better than this - on the beach for the last light of day with your absolute favourite human beings on planet earth. I loved shooting Desire and Ruhan’s beautiful family - and it was so special to have Gran and Grandpa there with them too. One thing was for sure - being lovely runs in the family - I just wanted them to put me in the car boot and take me home - what absolute stars! Here are some of my favourites x

When you are celebrating your first lap around the sun - it is important to do it in style - especially when lockdown means you can’t have the big piñata-smashing clown and cake filled fest your tiny heart would have loved. Little Austin’s lovely mum Kellie wanted to make the occasion really special and memorable so we booked a mini shoot, built him his own little fort in a beautiful nearby forest, and set him free to have the best time. His sister was on hand to make sure everything looked gorgeous and to keep him smiling and I can honestly say this was one of the happiest little forest birthday’s ever :)

How does one photographer get so lucky? It was already wonderful enough when these delightful humans dropped me a line to come and capture their happy tribe, but I had no idea just what fun we would have taking these photographs. Each of the girls beautiful personalities shines through - and the amount of laughter, ideas and bunny-snuggles made me think that Kirsten and Anton’s family really are something wonderful.
